Our Organic Lawn Care Program

 

More and more people are moving away from synthetic to organic fertilizer products.  Organic fertilizers don't leach excess nitrogen into our water tables, are non-toxic, pet friendly, and provide a healthier turf more able to fight disease and funguses.  By improving the microbial activity in the soil organic lawns over a short period of time become much more drought tolerant by developing deeper root systems requiring less watering.  You can feel confident about letting your kids and pets play outside immediately after any application. We've developed an organic program tailored to both warm and cool season grasses for our specific growing region of central  North Carolina.

Our cool season grass program consists of 7 to 9 applications:

• Winter Calcitic Lime Application (depending on your soils pH)
  

• Gluten Application in early Spring - This helps prevent weed germination while providing beneficial nitrogen for the soil.

• 3 - 5 Organic Fertilizer Treatments in Spring thru Summer - These provide organic nitrogen to the soil feeding micro-organisms that provide natural nitrogen for your lawn. 

• Early Fall Organic Fertilizer Application
  

• Late Fall Organic Fertilizer Application

* Aeration & Seeding is recommended in early Fall

Our warm season grass program consists of 7 applications:

• Winter Calcitic Lime Application (depending on your soils pH)

• Mid Spring Organic Fertilizer Treatment - These provide organic nitrogen to the soil feeding micro-organisms that provide natural nitrogen for your lawn.

• 3 Summer Organic Fertilizer Treatments

• Early Fall Organic Fertilizer Application

Late Spring Aerating is recommended for warm season grasses
